Our
Facilities

At M.M Shah and M.V. Shah we want our students to feel enthused, engaged, and inspired, and our experience has taught us that, in order to do this, they must be allowed to explore learning in well-equipped surroundings using state-of-the-art facilities. With this in mind, we offer an impressive range of facilities and educational resources coupled with a recently refurbished school library

The purpose of any school library is to support all educational programs, give learners and teachers the opportunity to seek help of additional sources other than textbook, and above all, cultivate reading habits in learners. The library also has a vibrant role of making learners curious to know more beyond what they are taught in class. More so, being critical and creative thinkers, gain knowledge, skills personal development that they will use throughout their lives.

Since the library work hand in hand with the language departments, learners have been allocated library sessions in their time table just like any other subjects. Once a week for the lower school, and twice for the middle and upper school, (i.e for maktaba lessons were they only do activities related to Kiswahili and library lesson were they do activities related to English lesson) Learners are always accompanied by the language teachers for these lessons.

During these session, learners do silent reading, read aloud, newspaper review project among other language related activities.

Since a lesson can be very short to finish an interesting book, learners are given the opportunity to borrow books for personal reading usually under a period of 7 days before returning and there after allowed to borrow another.

To ensure the above expectations are met, and be at per with the new curriculum, the board upgraded the library whereby, it got new shelving and three sitting arrangements, cushioned area for the lower school, study area for any library users, and the most loved area by learners, the tiered seats. With the current sitting arrangement, the library can comfortably sit a whole stream with approximately 80 learners to capacity

Classification of books on the shelves have been done to ease identification, retrieval and reshelving, Colour schemes have been used to differentiate the books sections.

The school cafeteria offers a range of healthy snacks and vegetarian meals to our learners. The large seating area ensures all of our learners have a sufficient room to enjoy their meals.

The school boasts a multi-purpose hall, used for all major school functions. It provides an ideal space for school assemblies, events, productions, minor games, and inter-school activities.

The School has two(2) ICT labs with 35 workstations for the upper primary section and 40 laptops for the kindergarten section. All stations are equipped with multimedia kits and interconnected nodes with internet facilities. The ratio of computer to pupils is 1:1.Technology is used to make teaching and learning meaningful and fun. We have fully installed classrooms with digital learning facilities, projector and a full set of computer. ICT is well integrated into all subject areas. New technology tools like mounted projectors  boards have been installed in all classrooms and learning areas.

Our science lab is spacious to host a whole class comfortable and well equipped to conduct basic to complex experiments.

Its equipment allows learners to interact directly with the data gathered and get a first-hand learning experience by observing and performing various experiments. Learners are made to use the models and understand different scientific theories and concepts. This makes teaching and learning easy both for the teachers, as well as for the learners. There are several scientific theories and concepts that are difficult to explain directly from the books. Anatomy models for instance, make it easy to understand the otherwise complex theories of science.

The well-equipped music room provides a variety of instruments like recorders and  drum sets just to mention afew, for students inclined to music.

To encourage student interest in programmes of physical education, a range of sports facilities are available that include indoor sports facilities for  badminton and table tennis  coupled by Outdoor  Basketball, Handball, Netball, tennis courts and a standard football field.
